18/09/2010	TREC Training Course The course day will cover training in three areas 1) orienteering, 2) riding a series of obstacles 3) control of paces, lunch will be provided, along with stabling and at the end of the day we will have a fun competition with prizes! You can bring your horse or use one of ours. This will be a fun and informative day which is suitable for all abilities and types of horse and will suit those of you that have not done Trec before! Key to Common Abbreviations

TREC - From the French “Le TREC”, “Technique de Randonnee Equestre de Competition”
POR - Parcours d'orientation et de régularité (Orienteering phase)
PTV - Parcours en Terrain Varié (Course in Varied Ground, Obstacles phase)
COP - Matrisse des Allures or Control of Paces phase

Competition Types:

TREC: All 3 phases (POR, PTV, COP)
POR: orienteering only;
Indoor TREC: E.g. Kelly Marks Winter series, competition is PTV & COP only
VTH: Versatile TREC Horse; PTV,COP & Obedience test in place of the orienteering
